When clicking on opponent statistics, show their quit percentage on games. Nothing worse than playing a few legs against somebody and for them to quit because they’re losing. Frustrating.
This an good idea because percentage is not a penalty and would be way better than the following post: https://feedback.dartcounter.net/96.
This percentage should only count for online games and should be removed after a certain period.
Hi all, we’ve merged ‘#96 - Penalty for leaving games’ intothis issue. We understand the idea of giving a penalty for leaving games or see a stat on how often someone leaves a game. BUT, how about leaving a match against someone who is obviously cheating? Should we punish the people who leave against those people? If anyone has got the perfect solution for this (apart from using camera to avoid cheating), please let us know here.
I think you are reluctant to implement because of a minority that may be adversely impacted, if someone is playing a person cheating they have options (they can leave and incur penalty but will not matter long term as they won’t be in this situation often, they can stay and rate the cheater poorly) those that suffer disconnection or family emergency again will not be affected long term as this should be so infrequent that it will not affect long term ratings. I would suggest looking at how the top computer game companies handle the same issues (quitter takes the loss on record regardless so no point in quitting, timed ban on playing/matchmaking, stats/ratings displayed, ability to make notes on players that are easily visible to only yourself so you can tag the player as a cheat/quitter and not accept match next time, eventually they will struggle to get matches once people have built up a database) I imagine the list goes on but implement for the 99% of fair honest players and don’t hold back because of the 1% that may be adversely impacted thanks.
Hi Dazzla, we have taken a look at the computer games with similar situations, but the big difference there is there is no single chance that a person can cheat. So in that case it would always be best to ‘punish’ the leaver. However, unfortunately there are still cheaters on darts platforms, so that’s why it makes it so hard to punish the leavers, because they KNOW they will be punished after leaving against a cheater, which makes it feel very unfair.
Hi, so the focus should also be on cheating, cut down/eliminate the cheating and implement the above again all been done for years in the gaming industry where cheating can and does happen and is dealt with so as to maintain the integrity and longevity of the game, cheats are identified and banned. If you let cheating persist you lose the player base as it is biased and not enjoyable, there will be numerous ways gaming companies deal with cheating (bans, software that identifies cheating, monitoring unusual behaviour/scoring/stats, other players can report and then when a number of reports received it is looked into and bans/penalties implemented)
What you have got to remember is people have paid £500 for an omni that can only be used on your site , people who quit a game (especially when it is there game in the lobby ) should have a timed ban when quitting when losing the game
Happened to me earlier and I was on for my best average Totally ruined by someone spitting there dummy out
There should be a ban or leave percentage at a minimum There are still blatant cheaters even when using a camera, this can’t be avoided and the ban should be reviewed after the player has reported the cheater for cheating.
